Sophia Antipolis, France. March 5th, 2018.
The PNR data collection has started successfully with the connection of Luxair airline.
Initiated in last November, the project has successfully passed each step: relationship with the airline data provider, certification of the data received, testing phase until the GO live.
“This is a very satisfying beginning, we achieved this important part of the project quickly and without troubles”
As declared Stephane Levy, director of the department of studies in the international relations services of the Luxembourg police.
The next step will be to connect all others airlines operating in Luxembourg: Turkish airline, Easyjet, Flybe, Ryanair, Hahn Air, KLM, Hop, Aegean, British Airways, LOT polish airlines, Volotea and Vueling. It all will happen in the next coming weeks.
This highly secured community solution, independent from data analysis systems, is offering a single point of collection for PNR data sources to any subscribing government. It alleviates the burden of multi-source connection, data certification and permanent consistency checks for Governments but also Airlines which are the data providers.
Airlines and governments have until May 2018 to comply with the EU PNR 2016/681 directive. Member States must establish specific PIU entities responsible for the storage and processing of API-PNR data. The Directive regulates the way Member States can use the API-PNR data collected and provides the necessary data protection safeguards.
